ARTISTIC DIRECTION
Since 2015, Jérémie has become one of Galway’s exciting physical performers, choreographers and movement directors in the independent theatre community. He is a trained actor and physical theatremaker, having followed the 3-year intensive conservatoire programme of Acting for the Stage, at the Ottawa Theatre School, Canada. His training includes acting, movement, acrobatics, Lecoq, mask, mime, Chekhov, and Shakespeare, amongst other subjects.
His passion for theatremaking has brought him across the ocean, establishing Brick Wall Theatre (the original name of the Company) in 2015. He completed his MA in Theatre Practice & Production at the University of Galway (2016), researching physical theatre in text-based solo performance.
Following his graduation, Jérémie continued his artistic work with Cuisle Productions, as well as other independent companies in Ireland. He established himself as an Actor-Trainer and teacher, offering guest-workshops and lecturing across various organisations, from Youth Theatres, to Dance Schools, to Universities. He is currently a core Actor-Trainer for the intensive BA (Hons): Acting at Manchester School of Theatre (MMU).
As an actor & performer outside of Cuisle Productions, selected credits include: The Stranger, The Dreaming of the Bones (Dance Players); Bully, House Party (Fíbín Teo); Fisherwife, The Fisherwives (Brú Theatre); Cuchúlainn, The Only Jealousy of Emer (Dance Players); Azdak, The Caucasian Chalk Circle (Chekhov Ireland); Jean-Paul Marat, Marat/Sade (Unicorn's Theatre); Thomas, Maid For A Musket | Ensemble, Hamlet (St-Lawrence Shakespeare Festival).
His most recent movement direction and choreography work includes: The Dreaming of the Bones (Dance Players); The Kinds of Sex You Might Have at College (Active Consent); Transitions: A Spring Awakening Play (NUIG); Wake (No Ropes Theatre); The Only Jealousy of Emer (Dance Players); Dún na mBan Trí Thine (An Taibhdhearc).
As a Hardiman Scholar, Jérémie completed a practice-based PhD in physical theatre as a methodology of adaptation at the University of Galway in 2023, under the supervision of Dr. Charlotte McIvor.
