When Theo's older sister disappears, the young 11 year-old suddenly finds himself in the Unknown: a dark, decaying, and strange world, filled with nightmares and the ones he calls "The Creatures". Army only with a temperamental torch and determined to find his sister, Theo must embark on a giant game of hide & seek to save them both from complete darkness.
Using the hero’s journey as a basic structure, ‘Hollow’ investigates themes of displacement, survival, and the imagination as a coping mechanism. Drawing from Children’s Theatre practices, and blending dark fantasy and horror, this performance employs physical theatre and puppetry to bring an otherworldly and scary story to adult audiences.
